Went to Adelitas on a side...

Went to Adelitas on a side trip from Las Vegas in late January. I had to visit since this would be the closest I would get to Tijuana for a very long time. I used the information from previous posts and had no trouble crossing the border, finding a cab, etc. All the info about pricing, girls, drink prices were accurate, so I won't go into details about them. I will mention that the club is small. It is probably 40'x40' at most. The interior reminded me of a clichéd scene with red vinyl booths and neon lights. The club was like a bar scene from the movie "Losin' It". Even for a late afternoon there was quite a few pretty girls, some even gorgeous, while a couple were fairly old and looked desperate for any company. Hustle factor was high in this place. The girls would start coming one by one and sit with you to try to buy them a drink, take a trip upstairs or just get a dollar tip. The pretty girls seemed to make the most effort while the desperate and gorgeous ones seemed less enthusiastic. I had a few girls sit with me thinking they knew English fairly well. But after some basic small talk, it was harder to communicate with them. Since my Spanish is terrible, I could not really make any connection with the girls which was a bit frustrating. Also, due to the crowd, proximity of the tables to each other, and the ever present waiter (masero?) asking for drink orders, I really could not relax like at a strip club in the U.S.

Overall, I thought the language barrier was the biggest problem I had with this trip. Though I was able to get everything I wanted, no one could or would answer any questions I might have asked. So for future trips, I will either bring someone who can speak Spanish or I will invest in Spanish lessons.
