After a long absence, I dropped back into LaChambre last Friday afternoon and was immediately glad I did. The free parking is a big plus for a guy like me who hates to hand his keys over to a "valet" just so the club can milk more cash from him, and here at LaChambre you don't do that.

Walking in the club, I was greeted with pleasant hellos from the bouncer, owner, waitress, and a couple dancers I saw, not because they remember me but just because that's the kind of friendly, neighborhood-bar sort of place this is. The bar and stage area haven't changed in the 18 months I've been away and I had to sit back by the DJ to find a spot where I wouldn't be elbow-to-elbow with some other dude.

My waitress was prompt and cheerful and I was given five to ten minutes to relax before the first dancer approached me. She was a tall black girl named London and she was fun to talk to and took it well when I told her I wanted to wait awhile before deciding on a VIP partner. A little while latter, a tall Hispanic named Vanessa dropped down next to me and we talked a little more in depth about what I expected in the VIP and she wasn't put off by my suggestions. That was great but I still wasn't ready to give up the show so I again declined the offer to visit the VIP.
