Last Friday was my latest trip 'round the upper Georgetown clubs. My review of JP's is done, now onto Good Guy's. As you come in off the street, the entire club is one long room with seating on one side and stages on the other. There is also some seating between the stages. Between the stages are some flat screen TVs. At the very back of the club is a service bar and the men's room, along with a rear exit. The stages are about 6' square and about 3' high. This gives one an interesting view when tipping at the stage. More on that later. The club has a sort of college bar feel. The walls are bare brick decorated with posters, the tables are laminated wood, no tablecloths. The chairs are not too bad, typical of your basic banquet hall. The seating is pretty packed, but each seat has a good view of at least one stage. On weekends and busy nights however you have to crawl over people to get in and out of your seat. I prefer weekday afternoons when the club is less crowded and the mood more laid back. Drinks average about $7. Service is usually pretty good. There is a decent menu, and pretty good lunch specials. There is also sometimes a buffet. Didn't get any free popcorn the last time I was in, but that had been a long standing feature. The music is usually way too loud. Music comes from a jukebox that the dancers choose from. Dancers usually do 15-20 minute sets once an hour, rotating through the stages so that you will see different dancers on your stage for about 3 hours (depending on the number of dancers). Usually about a dozen dancers per shift. They now allow floor work with the bottoms on, and some of the dancers take advantage of that. There are also some who are very skilled at pole work. Dancers are usually nude by the end of the first song, and most stay that way till the end of the set. A few choose to put the bottoms back on for some floor work. If you want to tip at the stage you approach with a dollar or two. The dancer will usually give you a 30 second show, you tip her (hand to hand only) and go back to your seat. There is no contact in DC, but there are some very intimate views. As with other clubs, the dancer may initiate some contact, nothing intimate, usually leaning back on you or bracing her leg on your shoulder to help you get a good view, but that is about the extent of the stage show. It is eye candy only. Most of the dancers will circulate after their set for extra tips. At this point if you want some company, offer to buy them a drink. Dancer drinks are the same as customers. For the drink (and a tip if you are inclined) you'll get some company, conversation, and depending on the girl, tips, mood, etc a little light flirtatious touching. As always YMMV, and it helps to be a regular here. The girls average around a 7 or 8. They have recently gotten much more picky about looks. You will still find a lot of tatoos and piercings here, but there are also a lot more natural bodies and good looking girls. As I said I like to go days, when the crowd is thinner. It doesn't take too many tips to get noticed and some attention. Good place for a beer after work and some eye candy, but remember this is DC. No private or lapdances, so adjust your expectations. Parking is available in the back for a fee, but the neighborhood is safe, and parking can usually be found nearby.
