Electric Blue offers good hands on lap dances and has one of the best champagne room setups around. But it’s not for the faint hearted. It’s a real shithole. It’s dirty and smelly. More importantly the vast majority of strippers at Blue are nasty looking- fat, old and/or really ugly (a couple look like the landlady in the movie Kingpin!) That being said there’s occasionally a diamond in the rough. But not always. So it’s either a hit or a big miss. Here’s the basics. Blue is in northeast CT right off I-84 exit 68. Just head north a few feet off the ramp and its on the left side in a small shopping plaza that includes a Subway and Napa Auto Parts. There’s no valet parking and if you don’t have a SUV, truck or AAA, stick to the paved lot and don’t attempt to park out back. Don’t worry if there’s a statie in the commuter parking lot across the street, he’s only there guarding the Dunkin Donuts next door. The entrance to the club is under a canopy on the left side of the building. You enter and at night pay a cover - $5 during the week, $10 on Friday and Saturday nights. The lap dance room is immediately to your right. Then there is a very large rectangular bar with plenty of seats looking onto the only stage. A bottled beer costs $4.75, mixed drinks can run over $12. The stage is very large and sort of horse shoe in shape with ample seating. The club occasionally has a free buffet set up late Friday afternoon/ early evening, but other then that there’s no food here. The restrooms are on the right side just past the bar and just before the pool table and stage. If you want to smoke you have to go outside in front of the club (let the doorman know so you can re-enter). Looking out across the club the clientele looks like a motley mix of an Indian convenience store owner’s convention combined with a Hell’s Angel’s meet and a frat party from UConn along with the ladies pimps keeping an eye on things from the back side of the bar. From Thursday to Saturday nights there’s about 30 or so strippers working. The club tends to be crowded on these nights, but not quite packed- so there’s always seats available, even at the stage if you’re patient. The club usually has 4 or more strippers up on stage in 15 minute sets. The ladies shake there T&A for tips to a mix of rock, rap and techno. Not many do pole tricks (most are too out of shape for that) and if so just a brief spin or two. The rules are very liberal even at the stage with lots of two way contact. Because of CT’s dumb laws, this place is technically topless only because alcohol is served. However, you’ll get a glimpse of a little more stage-side and a lot more during a lap dance where things get very up close and personal. The dancers here a very aggressive. You will be hounded for dances and more from the second you walk in to the second you leave. Some greet you with the infamous Electric Blue “handshake”. Many of the ugliest ones can’t take a hint that your not interested. About half the strippers are white Americans and the rest are mainly Latina (mostly Brazilians), with a few Eastern Europeans, a couple of Black girls and sometimes an Asian or two. If you’re looking for cute college girls or models you won’t find one here. Most of the ladies look like at least in their late 20’s to 40’s or even 50’s. Many are fat or totally out of shape (saggy and stretched out looking). Almost all have lots of piercings and/or are covered with ink (some are branded with their pimps name). IMO most of the ladies look like stereotypical street walking hookers. I would put most of the ladies in the 0 to 4 attractiveness range even with the really dark lighting. Even the ones that look decent from a distance can be really scary up close (even with beer goggles!) However, occasionally there’s been attractive dancers. Unfortunately the good talent hasn’t been consistent. The few attractive ladies that pass thru either don’t keep a consistent schedule (work once in a while here and there) or they seem to quit after working for only a few nights. While the beastly ones are here on every visit year after year. But if you manage to fend off all the nasty ones and snag one you like, you’ll definitely want to take her to the lap dance room. As you enter you may have to give your dancer $1 to put into the jukebox that plays the shortest songs around. The lap dances cost $20 per song and you pay your entertainer directly (usually after you’re done). The lap dances are done in small open ended booths that face out into the dimly lit room. There’s a real lot of two way contact. Most will let your hands roam everywhere. The chairs in the booths are uncomfortable- small with little padding. However if you agree to do five dances, most entertainers will give you a hand getting comfortable. Don’t worry if you spill your drink. The bouncers don’t care. If you want more privacy head for the champagne rooms. These are small rooms enclosed by solid curtains that are directly off the lap dance room. Each room has a plush leather sofa and is completely private. The CR costs $100 to the house for a half hour which you pay at the bar and another $200 you pay directly to your entertainer. If you go for less than a half hour you may get a lower rate (and service) from your entertainer, but you still have to pay the $100 to the house. There’s another CR just to the right of the DJ booth. It costs an additional $50 more to the house. My experience is there’s no reason to spend the extra $50. So how’s the CR? Lets put it this way, Chris Rock would be wrong here- you get to put the baloney in the bun just like next door at Subway ;) Best of all, it’s not just the fugly ones that will show you a hell of a good time! Some of the downers here- aside from the inconsistent talent and the ever present hoard of ugly broads- The restroom usually has no functioning toilets because they’re clogged with spent rubbers, so there’s literally an inch of piss on the floor. Fortunately there’s plenty of woods out back. Then there’s the bouncer who looks like Fat Albert with a cowboy hat. He sometimes compliments your lap dance experience by entering the lap dance room to yell “come on ladies lets make those house fees”. And finally there’s the nervous DJ who rushes into the lap dance room and interrupts your lap dance precisely at the wrong moment to tell your entertainer she’s supposed to be on stage. She probably didn’t hear her name called because he plays the music loud enough to wake the dead. Bottom line- Electric Blue is a good place to check out if your passing thru the area. But with only occasionally a good looking dancer and always lots of fugly ones, I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here either. Good luck!
