After a lackluster experience at Platinum Plus, I decided to check out some ‘local color’ and see how Trophy Club compared.

The club is a little off the beaten path, on the outskirts of the airport, and you get a good idea from the exterior that this won’t be an “upscale” experience. Paying a $6 cover at the door, you walk into the reasonably large, open main floor area, with the bar to the right and the stage jutting diagonally from the back left corner of the space, lounge seating arrayed throughout. Music was played at a reasonable volume, and given the high ceilings there wasn’t as much of the stale cigarette smell that you experience at smaller clubs.

I suppose the time of year and weather contributed to it being a slow night, but when I arrived there were less than a dozen customers in the club and probably that number or fewer dancers. Dancer quality was on the low side but not abysmal – no better than a hard seven on my scale, but none worse than a soft 5 (unfortunately the average trended toward the lower end of that range).
