The Penthouse Club isn’t on the main stretch of Boubon Street, but it is only a half a block away. It was twelve dollars to get in, but it was well worth it. It was probably the nicest club in the French Quarter. It was fairly bright and clean. They have two stages with the women dancing two songs at each stage. Most of the women hang out along a wall until it is their time to dance or see a man. One lovely lady spotted me coming in and almost immediately sat with me. She looked a little like Kelly Ripa. We chatted for a while and then she asked if I would buy her a drink. I said, “It was about time you asked!” A beer was six dollars and her mixed drink was eight dollars. We chatted for a while longer about her day job and her kids. She finally asked if I wanted a dance. I asked how much and what were the rules? The prices were right on the table inside a menu. They ranged from twenty dollars for a floor dance, forty dollars for a private dance upstairs to $550 VIP. I took the forty dollar dance and it was a lot of fun. I was a two way dance. After the dance she continued to sit with me. After another hour of chit chat, she asked for another dance. I think I really disappointed her when it was just another forty dollar dance and not one more expensive. After that I told her I was leaving for the night and I barely got a goodbye from her. Overall, I would probably go back. I did get to spend about two and half hours with a gorgeous woman for about $150 worth of dances and drinks.
