Over the years, I have read many positive reviews of the Playhouse, just never found the opportunity to visit. So when I was close by on a recent Monday evening I stopped by around 9PM. The club is easy to find. It's BYOB and liquor stores are nearby. The majority of customers (about 20 guys, many appeared to be regulars) were drinking water or soda, the rest had beers.

Standard NJ club layout. Large central rectangular bar, mostly seating at the bar. Long stage in the middle of the bar space. Ladies danced for 2 songs there. Plenty of TV screens showing sports.

Ladies were average to slightly better quality. As reported, the majority are Brazilian. A few are slender, and a few are old or overweight. About 10 or 12 ladies and a house mom present. Their routines were predictable. Two songs on stage, minimal eye contact or enthusiasm. After dancing, a slow walk around the bar, asking for private dances. Most of the ladies would snare a guy before they made it half way round. Off to the private booths, to appear 2 or 3 songs later. The ladies would disappear for long periods into the dressing, and half of them were making a regular trek to the smoking room out back.
