Thursday night on the way home...

Thursday night on the way home from Miami and a fight with the girlfriend - decided to give the Playhouse a shot for some release time. I had reviewed the club about 6 months ago - it was a late night visit and I thought the club was looking up a bit. I have to say I was really disappointed on this night. When I entered the club - no parking fee but $11 cover charge. Not to bad on the cover so i was cool with it. When I got into the club I was surprised - I went to the rear bar and there were about six thug looking guys clogging the whole area by the back bar - dancing and drinking but not spending any money on the girls. It was uncomfortable so I went to the front bar by the door. The club was dead - may be a total of 20 customers and I didn't see more than one tipping and a couple guys in the back room getting lap dances. It took the bar maid about 5 to ten minutes - seemed like a lifetime - to come and take my order. She was literally sitting on top of the bar at one end of the bar talking to a customer I suppose or a boyfriend? When she finally took my order - $5.50 for a beer - reasonable - I gave her a twenty - when she returned she placed my change for the beer on the bar - with me looking the other way at the dance floor and didn't even tell me - just left cash on the bar. Terrible service. There was from what I could see only one good looking dancer - a black girl. I tipped her well on stage and she was nice enough to stop by and thank me. She didn't hang around but I am guessing she had regulars waiting for her. She was nice and professional though and the only bright light in the crew. I saw only one Manager come across the floor - he seemed to be oblivious. Different from my last trip where there was a ton of management presence which was impressive. While I was sitting and enduring the lower standard dancers on stage - I happened to look around and I was shocked how filthy the flooring was and the overall club. This is the stuff you just don't see on busy nights i guess. Seedy strip club - I get it - but a little effort to maintain a clean place is always helpful. I was in the club about a total of 30 minutes - no other dancers approached me and I was okay with that but a depressing atmosphere. I know week days are always slow and hit and miss but I could not wait to get out of there. I don't think I will be going back - just an overall negative vibe for my tastes.
