Cabaret Royale was once the "classiest"...

Cabaret Royale was once the "classiest" joint in Dallas. Those days have long passed! The place is now dated and a bit run down. Still, I don't go to strip clubs to enjoy the decor! On this Wednesday afternoon I parked in the free lot south of the club (they also valet park) and stuck my head in the connected Fare Club entrance on my way to CR. A bouncer at the door told me they had NO dancers in the Fare Club, so I went on to the CR. After I paid the $1 fee, I went in and found a busy daytime crowd, there were over twenty dancers and likely 30 on more customers. Fortunately, among the other customers were several groups of young Hispanic men clustered abound tables drinking and talking loudly (and often crudely) in Spanish. These tables were carefully avoided by all the dancers so the remaining customers had a better than one to one dancer/customer mix!

I saw a mix of white and Latin dancers, both thin and "thick," some with too many tatts and some with few or none. I did see one black dancer, but only one. While heavily tatted and pierced dancers are not my fav, I did see several who were otherwise very attractive. What I did not see were and overweight, fugly or obviously unhappy dancers.

A waitress seated me and took my order, promptly returning with a $4 beer. While she was fetching my beer, a too young, too tatted, dancer offered me the standard stripper, "Wanna' dance?" which I politely declined. I briefly talked with two other dancers who joined me at my table, but didn't feel a vibe with either. I was enjoying myself, watching dancers on the 3 stages in use and talking with dancers and waitresses, when a thick young Hispanic stripper slid onto my lap. She kissed my cheek, hugged me tightly and wiggled in very interesting ways before saying, "Hi." I failed to object to her overtly intimate behavior!
