I really enjoy quality gentlemen’s clubs – too bad we don’t have one here in Albuquerque. TD’s North pretends to be one, but sadly, it is not. I think the words and phrases in the other reviews here say it all; they give TD’s a 6, 7, or 8, despite the “ghetto vibe … virtual shakedown to enter the club … too much in-your-face DJ,” and one review concludes that “… it is the best in town (and state), but you won't confuse it with high-end clubs in Dallas or Tampa.” Indeed, you won’t. The ratings must be on a “Special Olympics” scale, for TD’s North is only a 5 at best. What really makes this club just another overrated topless bar is the wanding and frisking of all customers at the door. I was recently at Christie’s Cabaret and they don’t do this, even though Phoenix is a big city, with just as many gangs. In fact I have not been frisked at a club outside of New Mexico. Why are all customers treated like potential criminals here in Albuquerque? Because TD’s has always catered to low-lifes, does not keep them out, and as a result has had numerous stabbings and shootings. In fact, they had another stabbing inside the club a few months ago, despite the wanding. The clubs in New Mexico are not safe! I’m holding out hope for a new club, from the Spearmint Rhino chain, opening soon in the closed Eclipse Cabaret. We don’t have a great track record here, but maybe they will show NM what a real upscale gentlemen’s club is like.
