On...
On a whim, my buddies and I decided to check out this club on the Alcoa Highway. When you first go in, there is that $10 cover charge. It's a tad bit unnerving to see the main bouncer/cashier with a taser gun on the desk, especially for an individual who does not go to these establishments except on very rare occasions. Stepping into the main area, I was blasted with the standard loud thumping music (Lords of Acid, and many others) and a very strong odor of cigarette smoke. Granted this IS a smoking allowed club, but it is a bit overpowering and eye-burning, even for a former smoker (thus the 5/10). Being there for four hours, the aftereffects of smelling like an ashtray was not great either. Otherwise, the DJ was a little funny and had a good voice, the three poles on the stage made for an interesting entertainer rotation, and there were plenty of tables and chairs (the cheap restaurant chairs you can get at any supply store). The VIP lounge had several comfy lounge chairs, guarded by your typical bored/angry-looking bouncer staring at you nearly the whole time to make sure you don't do something wrong. The bar only served beer/wine until 1:30AM, where you then had to go to the adjacent sports club, get a drink, and come back in. Also you HAD to buy two drinks minimum, at club prices. However, they also allowed you to BYOL, so the occasional bottle of spirits was observed being drunk by several men with glazed-eyes drunkenly staring at the main stage.
Now on to why a person goes to an establishment like this in the first place... the girls. Within a few seconds of sitting down, the three of us were approached by a friendly young woman with a fit yet curvy body. She introduced herself and sat down next to us, and engaged us in conversation. Unless you were on stage or a special was going on, the dancers generally were in bikini styles as they trolled for catches. For me, conversation and friendliness means a lot to me, so after a little while I was hooked and decided to get a VIP dance ($40 on a 2-for-1, so not great but not horrible). Let me tell you though, Clover was a treat in the VIP lounge, with a slow and sensuous dance that was very, very nice. Other dancers were generally good, with some spinners, fit-girls, curvies, and your early to mid 30's not-so-friendlies who would ask if you wanted a VIP, then zoom away when you were not ready for one. There was only one or two mediocre to poor girls, and many decents on the stage. At one point in the night, the girls did a musical chairs kind of gig, where you tip her a dollar and they do a very quick preview of what you would get in the VIP, which bumped my review of the value from 5 to 7.
For the three girls (Clover, Ariel, and Samantha) who were friendly, hot, and made good conversation, thank you for proving to my buddy that not all clubs are run down geriatric centers where some lit matches and droopy breasts make for a twirling fire-show of fear. Personality can make up for a lot of things, but DANG can y'all work it!
