The Blockist has been touring the Block in search of new adventures of late. A number of favorite dancers have moved on/moved out/moved up/moved over and it's time to make new contacts and explore new venues. However, returning to old favorite haunts to see what's going on is still a part of the Blockist's responsibility to loyal fans, so last week he visited The Red Room with an open mind. Very few of the old standbys remain. Gabby, a fixture for many years, has moved (down, in the Blockist's humble opinion) to the Jewel Box. Others of lesser note are gone. However, the Blockist was pleased to discover an old favorite who has been out of the loop for some time as she pursued a dead-end romantic interest. She has hit the dead end and has returned to The Red Room with a new attitude and lots of new tricks. We spent a VIP encounter catching up and remembering old times while inventing new memories. Ask around for the dancer who is into motor scooters. She has a nice body, is a pretty good dancer, and a great go-getter attitude.

For the Block newcomer, this is a typical story - relatively high turnover at the lesser clubs, less turnover at the better clubs (the Blockist considers The Red Room in this category), but with the better dancers leaving for periods to try for a real life or just a change of scene and returning when things don't work out as they planned.

I note that most of the Block clubs are gearing up for the holiday season, traditionally a time of good cheer and better deals, as single moms seek out sources of holiday gifting cash. The Blockist deals in statistical analysis, so YMMV...
