Since this is well-covered ground, I will try to focus on points not often discussed or different experiences. This was my first trip across the border for these purposes. I highly recommend searching for a youtube video that provides an abbreviated but helpful view of the trip across the border. It does not cover the bridges across to the taxis (which are longer than you can imagine), but otherwise it will give you confidence that you are doing everything correctly. For you newbies, a person can cross the border, get a cab, enter the club, change clubs, and return with almost no human contact outside the club other than cab drivers. Safety concerns seemed to me overblown, but still be smart about the trip.
At Adelita’s the dancers have shifts starting at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. I arrived around 3, partook of a couple of dancers, conducted a recon tour of HK, and when I returned, almost all of the dancers had changed at Adelita’s (which may be either good or bad, depending upon your perspective). Still, it’s good to know about this. By the way, HK told me that the dancers pretty much set their own schedules, so there’s no mass exodus or influx.
If you are not willing to go upstairs right after meeting a dancer, expect to buy her a drink, which is no biggy. One dancer, who I was strongly considering, bailed because I wouldn’t buy her a second drink. Her loss – there are many more fish in this particular ocean.
