What can I say about Rick's?...

What can I say about Rick's? It's the disney world of strip clubs. Super-clean and classy (this can be considered good or bad depending on who you are), friendly, and a bit sterile. I worked at Rick's in Manhattan for the last 3 months. They treat their girls very well, and this directly benefits the customer. Girls are a bit more friendly and laid-back than at other NYC clubs. the downside is that you are technically not even allowed to touch a girl during a lapdance on the main floor. some girls will let you touch, but you will quickly be corrected by one of the roaming bouncers. they want to sell those private rooms upstairs! rooms run 320 for a half hour, 600 for an hour. those are the CASH prices, if you pay with credit card there is a rather large fee added on. in the daytime only (before 7pm i think) you can get a room for 15 minutes at $150. you will be expected to tip the dancer, VIP host and VIP waitress in addition to the price of your room. this is a no-extras club. nada. don't even think about it. vip rooms do not have doors, they are more like private alcoves surrounded by red velvet curtains. you WILL be checked on by a waitress while you are in a room, and i'm sure that selling drinks is not the ONLY reason she's coming to check on you. the main thing that I (as a dancer) did not like about this club is that plenty of guys come here just to hang out. i.e.: drink some beers or eat dinner, look at some titties, not tip any girls, and not get lapdances. SO, if you are one of those cheapasses, rick's might be a good spot for you :). it's a low-pressure kind of place.

there are all different kinds of ladies represented here. a lot of very hot latinas (mostly Dominican), fake-titty spray-tan barbie types, african-americans with booties, barely-legal innocent-looking white girls... actually there are just A LOT of girls here. there are LITERALLY 100 girls working every night, saturday and sunday having somewhat less girls, and daytime having considerably less. the girls at rick's are definitely nicer than the girls at any club in manhattan. why? because they are can make their own schedules with no penalties for rescheduling or cancellation, come in late or early whenever they want, take as long as they want to do their hair/makeup, take a break whenever they want (for however long they want), have a large comfortable dressing room downstairs, have access to free water, coffee and snacks, etc. this is not typical in strip clubs, and especially not in NYC!

actually everyone who works at rick's is nice and pleasant, the bouncers, management, bar staff. i'm pretty sure they are trained to be nice. i've worked in other clubs where the staff seems to have been hired straight out of prison or something.

in conclusion... if you're looking for a classy joint where you can take your co-workers or your girlfriend or even your dad for a night out (or for lunch or dinner, the food is quite good), rick's is the place. but if you're looking for a skeezy, dark den of iniquity where you can get your rocks off, keep looking!... (you don't have to look that far, haha!)
