The Booby Trap will never be...

The Booby Trap will never be confused with a "gentlemen's club," but it's a lot of fun for a strip joint. BT was my first stop from the airport--I arrived about 12:15 to get lunch. Physically, there is some construction going on around the entrance; the back bar looks new, but otherwise the place is a bit threadbare. Inside, there's a smell of stale smoke; hope one of the next improvements is to the HVAC. It's a pretty quiet place before 12:30 on a weekday--no dancers on the stage yet, audio turned down. That day I think I was the youngest customer in the house, and I'm 59.

What's to like about BT? Well, the burger (free with chips, $1 with fries) was excellent. And the girls are there for a good time. A bit older and not as attractive as Cheetah (more "Hustler honey" than "Playboy playmate") but friendlier and ready to entertain. I had just started to unwind when a mid-30s Colombiana who was built like a brick &%$#house sat down on the barstool next to me. I enjoyed her company, in a high-contact way, through a drink and my burger. Things progressed to the friction room (same deal as other Pompano clubs--$25/song) and by the time I left I was completely de-stressed and smiling. Lunch with benefits was just the ticket to carry me through my afternoon meetings.

This was my third visit to the Booby Trap in the past year. I must say, the previous two trips I didn't really get the place--Cheetah prices with lower-caliber talent. Now I understand. Cheetah is fine for eye candy, but the BT offers a more laid-back vibe and dancers who entertain. Good food, serious fun, no attitude. I look forward to a return visit.
