I decided to check out Rhode Island Dolls on Saturday night. It’s a nice club with friendly people. But it didn’t have any dancers that I found attractive enough to make me want to spend any money. Here’s what I found. Dolls is a short easy ride off Rt. 146 (less then 5 minutes). The club is located in a mostly residential neighborhood, which is kind of weird. The area looked safe to me (at least compared to Providence). There’s a large spacious parking lot. Didn’t see any valet, but you really don’t need it here anyway. I entered into a small lobby where there was an ATM and a doorman collected a $10 cover after quickly looking over my ID. The doorman gave me a very quick tour of the club. It’s small compared to the Providence clubs. The interior is decorated like an old western bordello. It looks fairly new and clean. Immediately to the left of the entrance is the restroom and then a reserved VIP sitting area beside a very small stage (like for go-go dancing). Then there’s a small bar in the left corner and a large bar along the back wall. A bottled beer cost me $4.75. On the right hand side of the club is the main stage with about a dozen seats. On the night I went, even though the club was pretty well packed, the seats at the stage were empty most of the time. There was only one entertainer on stage at a time for about a 15 minute set and only the main stage was open. Most of the ladies put on really good shows with pole tricks even with nobody at the stage. All the ladies got topless, but none got nude or flashed their pussy. The main stage is flanked on either side by two large plush VIP seating areas. The rest of the floor space is packed with lounge chairs and tables. The smoking patio is out back past the DJ booth. The lap dance area and the champagne rooms are downstairs. I didn’t do either, but I was quoted $20 per song for an all nude lap dance. The reason I didn’t do any dances is that nearly all the ladies I saw fell in the 4 to 6 looks range IMHO. The two best dancers (still only in my 7 range) that I saw were a dirty-blond spinner with very small tits and a tall tanned tattooed chic that had a very slight resemblance to an older Megan Fox (but not nearly as hot). They ladies weren’t ugly, but not hot enough to give me a boner either. There was about a dozen strippers working. There was a variety of shapes and sizes, but for me none had a knock-out body or a cute face to match. Except for two Hispanic-looking girls, all the ladies were white and American. Most ladies looked like in their mid 20’s to early 30's. Unfortunately by far the best looking lady here was the smokin’ hot Oriental massage girl with a nice rack. If she danced or gave an “Asian massage” I would’ve spent some serious dough on her. But she didn’t, so after 2 hours I left around midnight with my wallet still full of cash and headed 15 minutes south to Providence. However, even if I didn’t appreciate this place, others may value the relaxed friendly atmosphere here over the Providence clubs. Both the entertainers and the staff were very courteous. The ladies at Dolls will sit and talk with you for sometimes a half hour or more like at a hostess bar before they hit with a dance prop. (and unlike Club Desire, you don’t even have to be a regular). The clientele here is also noticeably less shady then at the Providence clubs. The patrons are basically divided into either younger grungy “townies” or older well dressed “sugar daddy” types. Not many pimp or gangsta types. I didn’t see any couples or groups of dikes like you see in the Providence clubs either. The young townies sat in the lounge chairs chilling out with a beer. Many looked like they smoked a few joints before they arrived. The older sugar daddies hung out at the bars chatting with the dancers and bartenders like they were out on a date. Will I go back in the near future? Maybe to see if there’s better talent on a different night. However I would go back in a heart beat if Candace the massage girl starts dancing. I’d love to try her fortune cookie;)
