I've visited Deja Vu Showgirls a few times over the years and each time I leave, I ask myself why I wasted my time and money. This club sits squat in the middle of a pretty rough part of Highland Park near a string of scuzzy motels and not far from the Woodward Avenue ho stroll. Now usually that would be a recipe for a nice bit of debauchery but somehow this place just always underwhelms.

When you pull up into the lot you are asked to pay $10 for parking or try your luck on the street. If you aren't easily shaken, I'd say park on the street as long as it's not an unlit area too far down the block. Either way, it's not the best start to an evening.

The club itself seems large from the outside, but is only modest in size once you get past the cashier area. There is a central stage where ladies descend down poles from the ceiling, a nice effect, but diminished by the general lack of enthusiastic talent. I would have expected that on a Saturday night, the atmosphere would be at its liveliest, but the place felt so subdued that I was tempted to leave five minutes after I arrived.
