The guy who owns this place...
The guy who owns this place has been trying all kinds of things lately to "refresh" the feel of the club, the vibe. Another coat of black paint has been laid down over every surface. The fog machine has been taken out of service (asthmatics rejoice!) The sound system has at least two fully-functioning speakers. There's complimentary food some nights, a couple of steam trays with Italian fare from a local restaurant. Paper towels in the men's room! It's a whole new world.
Seriously, he's trying. He's been doing the social media thing, although posting photos on Facebook of girls who don't, won't and shouldn't work at his club is not necessarily a good idea. But on my last visit there was an actual DJ, not just an unattended WinAmp playlist, who was beat-matching and making the stage lights do stuff that appeared less-than-random. The cover is down to $10 (from $15) but now only your first drink is free, the rest are $2 each - and as you know, this is soft drinks only. Plus O'Doul's. So hurray for that.
There has been a lot of turnover when it comes to the dancers - a couple of my favorites have moved on - but that's pretty standard I realize. The girls working there now are all exceedingly friendly and accommodating. Are they super attractive? Hey, this is Wynantskill, New York; on average I'd say they're in the 5 to 7 range. Can they dance? It depends. It seems that there's a lot of just twirling around the pole. But the VIP rates are still very affordable (they've remained unchanged for over 2+ years) and you can reasonably expect a pretty intimate dance with the girl you take upstairs.
