I flew into Jacksonville on a...

I flew into Jacksonville on a Tuesday afternoon and decided to spend a little time at a local club. I set aside an hour (or maybe 2 if things were going well) and, after reading tuscl reviews, settled on the Gold Club. I arrived right at 3pm and entered the front door. No one was at the front desk, so I made an immediate right turn and headed into the club. Off to the right was a set of stairs, which were closed. Proceeding down the hallway, I determined that the restaurant was ahead on my right, and therefore the action must be to the left. I hooked a left and headed towards the music. I rounded the corner and found the bar. I sat down and ordered a drink, at which point I noticed that there were ONLY FOUR women in the club - 1 bartender, 1 dancer about 15 feet away focused on her phone, and 2 dancers at the bar. 2 of the 3 girls, as well as the bartender, were in the 6-7 range. The other girl was maybe a 3 or 4. And of course THAT'S the one that plopped down beside me and started chatting away.... talking about kids, court, long drive, her 2 other jobs + the 4 businesses she manages from home.... I quickly finished my drink and ordered a 2nd, trying to make the most of the situation. It didn't help. After what seemed like an eternity she asked "so how about a dance?" Finally, a chance to part ways! I politely declined, said I'm just gonna have a couple drinks and relax... If I'm interested later, I'll find her. But she didn't leave!! WTF. Well there was really no where else to go, as the club was so dead... so I excused myself from the stranglehold and ultimately left.

Overall the club seemed like it could be a great place for some fun. Nice big stage in the middle across from the bar, and what looked to be a side room with more tables/chairs. Plus from what I understand there is a VIP/dance area for a little more discreet fun. Maybe I just found a bad day/time to try out the Gold Club. In hindsight, I wish I would have tried Wacko's instead; from what I've read, it seems like there would have been a better chance for some mid-day action. Oh well.

If I'm back in Jacksonville in the evening/night and have time for a SC visit, I'd give the Gold Club another shot. Mid-week afternoon, I'd roll the dice somewhere else.
