My second stop to a strip...

My second stop to a strip club in Florida was Solid Gold in Fort Lauderdale. It was quite a drive going north through Highway 1, but worth a side trip through the heart of Fort Lauderdale. On the previous night, I had a great experience dining at a Brazilian Steakhouse called Chima in a really posh area off Las Olas Boulevard. Great buffet and selection of meats and fishes. Highly recommend this place as they have great valet service, great dining atmosphere, and food. In any case, that was my shameless plug for the day – I digress.

The following day I headed north on highway 1 before pulling into the parking lot outside the club in the late afternoon. In a previous review, someone pointed out that there was a five dollar charge to self park, but I never was charged; no parking lot attendant or meter . Not sure if I lucked out in that regard. Was greeted by a nice lady in the front and she told me there was no cover since I got in before nighttime. Went past her and to the right was a small restaurant. Past the restaurant was the main floor with an extravagantly decorated main stage with chandeliers hanging from the top of a catwalk looking runway – the same type runway that models in fashion shows travel up and down showing off their stuff. Girls emerged on the end of the runway behind a door. Noticed they used a lot of the color gold in their decorations from the pole to the side railings, to the gold colored tents surrounding the area – hence their club name Solid Gold. It also has high ceilings giving it a very open, very wide feel to the place. The club has high ceilings because there were all kinds of contraptions like swings and ladders hanging from it. In addition, the one thing I noticed was that the pole was on the shorter side and it terminated right underneath a chandelier which I found odd because girls couldn’t climb too high to perform pole tricks or they risked hitting their heads on the chandelier. Rounding out the club, there were two bars to the left of the club serving drinks to clients.

At first glance, most of the dancers appeared to be in their forties and none of them were knockouts. The quality was definitely lacking in the looks department as I saw dancers past their prime. In addition, the club definitely caters more the older clientele. Most of the guys look to be in their forties and fifties with grey hair so I definitely stuck out like a sore thumb being younger. However, what the women lacked in looks they definitely made up for in dances. I got really good mileage from 3 dancers .
