I took the week off to get some things done I’d been avoiding for a few months (car maintenance, house maintenance, etc.) and made an unexpected visit to Baby Dolls (BD’s) on a weekday evening. For most of my life I’ve heeded with my big brother’s advice and not done any mongering in my home town, but I agreed to meet a recently divorced buddy of mine for a couple of beers, and BD’s is where he wanted to go. Actually, the last time I was there was for a divorce party, so it might be interested to take a straw poll sometime of how many customers are recently single.

In any event, the layout of the bar has been well described so I’ll focus on my experience with the dancers. Like most Dallas clubs, extras are a rarity in the club, but can be had. The trick at BD’s is to find one that is up for the challenge. By buddy and I are probably twice the age of the average dancer here, so most of the young things think they’re doing us a favor by simply looking at us. The great thing about BD’s is the large selection of dancers; it is definitely a target rich environment. After we’d been there for about 15 minutes an eastern European (?) in her late 20’s convinced my buddy to find his way to a quiet corner upstairs and I was left to look around on my own.

Another I passed on a couple of dancers who promised “really fun dances” but were already looking for the next prospect before I answered. About 10 minutes later I was surprised by one who sat down next to me and casually said, “I think your friend won’t be back for a while, would you like some company?” While I’ve been to BD’s at least a dozen times over the years, I’ve never had a dancer approach me so subtly. She was older than most of the dancers and I would describe her as looking a lot like a pre-plastic surgery Jennifer Anniston (wider nose, smaller boobs, thinner lips). I bought her a drink, and she started massaging my neck a bit while we talked. I mentioned that I normally don’t visit local clubs, and told her my reasoning. I bought a couple dances from her, and during I was surprised at how well she moved, and how she was able to bring me to attention with a minimal amount of grinding.
