Cover was $5, and though the club was barely filled, I was asked by the bouncer where I wanted to sit. Not eager to tip someone for pointing me towards a chair, I found a seat for myself but thanked them for the offer. The chairs and tables are worn, but the carpet is new, and they've managed to spread the tables out a bit so there is more room to navigate through the area. It's now $15 a dance in a seat against the wall, so the rumors are true.
The dancers I saw on Sunday weren't as active or ambitious, probably due to the low flow of potential customers. I spoke with an older dancer, initials TM, who was polite and professional but didn't seem too eager to get excited during her dances. Next up was a musical component, who offered me thirty seconds of a sample and was pissed that I didn't want to go further. Sorry sweetie, you're just not my type. Then there was a large-breasted dancer with a few extra pounds who looks like she just left a meth clinic. Really, her face is worn and scarred to the point that I was taken aback. She seemed friendly but not my thing. Next up was a dancer whose name rhymes with "seven," and while I tipped her on stage, she left after her set, causing me to follow her out the door as none of the other dancers caught my eye. Still a safe, professional club but tonight was an off night.
Maybe next time.
