Knowing that I was going to have some down time while in Boston on some business I checked out TUSCL to get some insights on the club scene in the area and was delighted to find some reviews on Rhode Island Dolls that made it appear to fit my preferences nicely so off I went to check it out in person.

Getting there from down town Boston was no problem at all and less than an hour after setting off I found myself in a distinctly residential area of the town of Woonsocket looking at the large sign proudly proclaiming the clubs presence. The club sets on a small rise amid a well lit parking lot which felt inherently safe as I parked my car and proceeded up the stairs to the main entrance. After paying my $5 cover charge and exchanging a couple twenty's for some small bills the gentleman at the front asked if I had ever been to the club before to which I said "no" so he gave me a brief run down on where everything was and told me to let him know if I needed anything.

The club is fairly small but well laid out with a decent sized bar lining the far wall opposite the entrance and a stage replete with a shiny brass pole jutting out from the back wall to the right of the entrance. About 20 chairs ring the stage for those who want up close and personal views of the action and 20 or 30 small tables span the rest of the floor space. Unlike many clubs I have visited over the years Dolls was reasonably well lit and while the sound system was ample it wasn't so overpowering that you couldn't have a conversation with a lovely young companion while sitting at the tables.
