My first time to La Chambre....

My first time to La Chambre. I was enticed by the billboard that can be seen from I-96 and Telegraph; it says something blatant like "Nude girls here" or something. Anyway, I went after work, maybe about 6 PM. They weren't charging cover on this day (Tuesday). The bouncers were actually funny...one guy was talking to me about politics, making fun of the politicians in Detroit and how dysfunctional they are.

Anyway, I sat down at a booth. The place was about 40% full, I'd say. A handful of strippers, no more than 10 were circulating, most in booths or tables with customers. One dancing. They added a second at about 6:45 I'd say, when a group of about 6 guys came in. Most of the clientelle was mixed...50/50 white/black. A girl named "Anna" came up to me, didn't go for small talk, just asked if I wanted a dance. I told her maybe, and would she like a drink. We ordered a beer for me, rum and coke for her. $19 tab. Whatever.

She looked like she was maybe 3/4 white, 1/4 black. Once the shitty small talk ended, she started telling me about dancing in La Chambre. Good money, but not as good as the other places, she works weekends at PHC and sometimes FC. After about 15 minutes of this torture, she asked if I wanted a dance again. This time, I said let's get one more drink and "sure." She didn't want one, so I guzzled down a second Bud and we headed back.
