In San Diego on business and just couldn't pass up heading across the border for TJ. This review is for 2 visits over 2 days. It was my first time heading across into Mexico in TJ. Had some help from the reviews here on TUSCL, but had to feel my way around. A little intimidating once you get across trying to find the taxi area, took a few wrong turns, but ultimately found my way back to the footbridge across to the taxi stand.

Although I'm definitely not Mexican, I am olive complexion with a dark goatee and sort of look Latino/Italian so I never really got any strange looks wandering around in the wrong areas. I didn't feel comfortable, but if you at least act confident but not confrontational it's good, but still a little intimidating. It reminded me a bit of going into China from Hong Kong, you know you're heading into another country where basically anything could happen.

Anyway, get the cab, $5 to Adelita's as everyone says, drops me off right in front, can't help but to walk right in. I have to say, there is no way I'd ever attempt to drive there myself or walk there myself. I guess GPS could've gotten me there (maybe?), but it was very confusing once driving. Lots of turn-arounds, lots of U-turns, lots of the same looking neighborhoods/shops/restaurant/whatever-they-were. And over the 2 trips, had 2 taxi's there and 2 back and not one of them took the same route! I got to see a lot of different area's of TJ, that's for sure.
