In town for business, staying near the Gold Club - couldn't resist checking it out. The gold club is probably the most mainstream 'typical' strip club you will find in SF. I like the club, large enough to wonder - 2 floors. I believe the 2nd floor is supposed to be more exclusive - sometimes having to pay a fee to access it, however this night I just walked past the doorman and helped myself. Many girls at this club, all types and ethic backgrounds - typically all very attractive. The girls will ask you to buy them drinks - many seem to get more drunk than the patrons, which is good to a point and then becomes counter productive. Drinks aren't cheap, I had an impressive bar bill at the end of the night. At some point in the evening they have a 2 for 1 special, all the girls walk across the stage on the main floor and then ask guys for a dance. Must admit this did start off the evening for me - smoking hot girl approached me, I couldn't say no - thought I would get a couple of LDs to get started. There is an area left of the stage, in the back corner that provides 'higher mileage' LDs for a few extra dollars. Between the added privacy and girls enthusiasm I would definitely recommend it. After a number of dances the girl convinced me to check out a Private room for $250/30 min. These private rooms are right beside the back corner area I described. While you do get some level of privacy there is a 'host' who is watching. Although I tipped the guy hoping he would forget about us he was a pain in the ass. The girl didn't mind having fun - we both were but the bouncer guy had too much time on his hands. The quality of dances and fun is the same in or out of the private rooms - save your money and stay in the upgraded corner area. While it was a fun night it was an expensive night - could have had just as much fun for half the price.
