After heading to south Florida for a recent trip, I had to stop by a few of south Florida’s most popular clubs. Based on past glowing reviews Scarlett’s was at the top of that list. The club is located in a slightly hard to find location off I-95. If you are heading south from Fort Lauderdale, as soon as you exit off freeway onto the Hallandale Beach exit, you need to take a right upon exiting, but you then immediately need to stay on the far left lane as you will need to take an immediate left within a hundred feet of turning right or you will overshoot. Once you turn left you should see pawn shop which has a large sign so it’s not hard to locate, although I did have trouble finding it since it was my first time and overshot the left turn and had to bust a u turn on Hallandale a few blocks later. Scarlett’s is located right near the pawn shop around that quiet area right off the freeway.

Upon arriving there, I noticed the parking lot was a little bit on the small size as most of the spots were taken, and it was only 8:30pm. Valet parking was available but I decided to park outside a store next to the club. Since it was after 8pm I had to pay a cover price of either 10 dollars or 5 dollars which I don’t quite remember, but I consider that to be cheap compared to cover prices of clubs on the west coast, so the night started off on a positive note.

Since the issue of loud music and being too dark were some of the most common complaints on this club, I thought I would add my two cents. I definitely agree that the music played was at too high a decibel level as I had a hard time telling the bartender my drink orders as well as carry on a normal conversation without resorting to shouting. The lighting I thought was acceptable as it served to enchance the strobing/pulsating lightshow that was shown on the back walls of the club. The most annoying thing is that they allow smokers to light up anywhere in the club. For non smokers, this is a deal breaker as I can’t enjoy myself while inhaling all this smoke.
