Mermaids is one of my favorite spots in the Zona Norte. It's across the street from Adelita's and a few doors down from Bar Tropical.

The club is small and somewhat intimate. Mermaids is a combination massage parlor and bar so there are two entrances. If you're walking from Tropical towards Constituticion, the first entrance is to the massage parlor and the second entrance is for the bar. Some guys go the massage parlor directly to see the line up and arrange for a massage and sex. This is a mistake in my opinion as you pay the club 40 dollars for the hour and then have to negotiate with the girl in the room.

Another method, and one I've had success with, is going into the bar and finding a girl you're attracted to. You can approach her directly or ask a waiter to help you. You can buy the girl a "ladies drink" for $8 and chat and discuss and then go arriba if you get good vibes from her. Usually the cost for an hour will run you from $60 to $80 for a massage and sex plus $40 to the house for the room. Some girls may ask for $100 but that is negotiable of course. Beers here are $3 but if you go during the day time they have specials sometimes. Last time I was there on a Saturday early evening (before 7) and got 2 beers for $4.
