Club Rouge is a little more...

Club Rouge is a little more upscale than your average Portland club. The bouncers and waitresses, bartenders, etc are clean cut and dressed fairly well. And the club has a dress code, though it's pretty informal (all I can remember is that they don't allow beanies, maybe other types of hats as well).The club has two stages, which are pretty much the same size and right next to each other. So if you grab a seat at the edge of one, you can watch the shows on both stages at the same time. From what I could tell, there was only one waitress serving the entire club, so service could be a little slow, and you had to flag her down to get your order in. But she was attractive, friendly, and incredibly hard working and efficient, so overall service wasn't too bad.

Cover was $5. I didn't see a menu, but ordering a jack and coke was about $7, and ordering a beer on tap was about $6. I didn't buy any dancer drinks, so I'm not sure about that. A topless lapdance was $20, 3 nude lapdances were $100, and I think half and hour in the VIP room was $150. The topless lapdances were in a small room curtained off from the hallway with four big leather chairs (so only four dances could occur at the same time). There wasn't much privacy, but that didn't bother me. Once, when I was in there, all the chairs were taken, and some customers and dancers had to wait outside until a seat opened up. It wasn't really a problem when I went, but on a busy weekend night, I could see a big backup happening. Nude lapdances were in a different area in the back of the club. Curtains closed off several big semicircular couches, but if it was really full, you could have your dance going on on one side of the semicircle, while another customer was getting a dance on the other side. You weren't close enough to make it uncomfortable, but you'd have a pretty good view of the other lapdance, so if you're really big on privacy, it could be a problem. The VIP was upstairs (I didn't go, but I heard it was pretty much completely private).

I was amazed by the quality and quantity of dancers working on a Tuesday night. I haven't been to a lot of clubs, but I was stunned from the moment I stepped in. I wasn't sure how many dancers would be working a Tuesday, but I sat at the stage for at least an hour and a half before any dancer got on stage a second time. I hoped there would be one or two great looking dancers, but there were four or five that were smoking hot, most of the rest were good looking but not my type, and only one or two that would rate a 6 or a 7 out of 10.
