After a memorable time at the Mens Club, I decided to stop by the Fantasy Girls on my way back to the hotel. Past visits to FG have been quite memorable and satisfying. This night, not so much. Paying cover, I was asked if I wanted to pay $10 for cover to FG or $15 for a band that would get me in Spice Girls and Wild Orchid too. No, just wanted to chill out at FG a while.
As I came in a very thin tatooed and pierced lady was on stage doing a remarkable performance on the poles. One of the best I have ever seen. I sat at the bar and had a Modelo while she finished her set. Comment: Why do bartenders put limes in Mexican beers? I can see why they do it to Coronas - gotta mask that horrible tasete somehow but, Modelo (same beer sorta) or Pacifico or others? They don't do that in Mexico. Sorry, I got distracted there...
Anyway, when the tatooed lady came to the bar after her set, the bar tender gave some really great advice. This dancer apparently had been having a good night or had a good night previously. He told her "you gotta treat this like a job. Bank the good nghts, pay your bills and save the rest. I knew a dancer who retired after a few years with over a million in the bank, two houses and a law degree. Think of this as a job 5 days a week and separate your real life from your stage life."
