I believe this club is currently closed and will be reopening as "Stunter's Island". It was previously a black club and had crime problems. The two guys who bought the place are white guys and they were at Gatby's North picking up their girlfriends who work there as dancers. Not sure if they are opening it up as a dancer bar or just a regular bar. I would check it out in a couple of weeks.

Here is an example news story from Akron Beacon Journal back in 2009 regarding the club:

A bouncer who escorted a customer out of the bar after a dispute over the price of a drink was stabbed by the patron while the two walked to the parking lot.

The bouncer, a 36-year-old man from Akron, was treated at a local hospital for injuries that police said do not appear to be life threatening.
