I was passing through El Paso...
I was passing through El Paso on a cross-country trip and happened to book a room at the Red Roof Inn I-10 east. I turns out that Tequila Sunrise is right in front of the motel -- easy walking distance. Jaguar's Gold Club is less than a half mile away along the I-10 access road, so if you don't like Tequila Sunrise, you can go 30 seconds drive down the road and try your luck elsewhere.
This club consists of one very large room with a main stage, a large bar area, and a private dance area. The owner must have gotten a hell of a deal on black paint because he painted all the walls and the ceiling of the main room flat black. While the stage is fairly well-lit, the dark decor makes the place feel like a cave. There are about 50 small 4-top tables in the main area around the stage and half a dozen couches along the walls. There is also a VIP area on one side of the stage with cushier seats. There is an outdoor patio beside the bar for smokers. Apparently the powers that be in El Paso think smoking is just way too cool to be done indoors.
Cover was $10 for VIP's and $5 for the rest of us slobs. Import beers were $5, domestics were $4. Lap dances on the couches in the main area will set you back $10/dance. If you want to get a VIP dance, you have to pay $10 for admission to the private area, and then $20 per dance.
