What's true of Club Fantasy and what always has been true is that there are usually only a very few dancers that are worth the time and money, meaning that they are cute or at least decent looking; or, on the other hand, they are not all that good looking but they will provide some extra-curricular amenities. The only virtue of this system is that dancers often do not stay on the job very long and, if you wait a while before coming in again, you will see a some new choices. The ones that have been there for months and even years are the ones I stay away from. Such was the case on this particular night. I was able to spot and dance with some newbies, although one was not really new, having returned to the job after a layoff of about nine months. There is a certain excitement about this because the possibilities of hitting pay-dirt are always in the back of your mind. This time, however, I came up dry, literally and figuratively. Two of the girls were conversationalists, meaning that there was really no future there. So I checked them in after about 30 minutes to cut my losses. That is my cardinal rule: no good money after bad. The third one was a bit of a tease and she kept me going for a little longer till she said that she never did anything the first time, that I should see her next time I come in. That's an old line. But I had to spend an hour's worth to find out the dismal truth. So no luck on this trip. The pickings are getting slimmer.
