Actress Sunset Thomas purchased the sleepy Cheerleader’s Cabaret and had it remodeled into the more exciting Diamond Jack Gentlemen’s Club. As before, this is a large, beautiful club. It has comfortable chairs, a high ceiling, tiered floors and the men’s room doesn’t smell. Under current management the many ceiling fans are switched on, so this is the least smoky of any Phoenix club that I’ve visited. Everyone is very courteous and professional. Any slight faux pas gets you an apology from waitresses, dancers, and bouncers. The men on staff dress in ties, not gangsta attire like in some clubs. I like to dress business casual and I feel overdressed at most clubs. Here it feels right. When genwar returns to Phoenix, he’ll like this place.

Music is clear but not too loud, and the DJs do a good job of sizing up the crowd and matching the music style. Besides the music, there are four big, modern TVs. I don’t know if they’re plasma or LCD, but they are very good, so you don’t miss your sports events in between dick rubs. There’s a free buffet from 11 to 5 on weekdays, but I never touch the food at strip clubs so I don’t know if it’s any good. There are drink specials every day. Sunday, damn near everything is 2 for 1. For me, that means all the Fat Tire I can drink (four glasses) for eight bucks.

The grand opening was grand indeed. The parking lot and that of a nearby industrial business were VIP parking only. It’s now back to normal. Sunset Thomas owns clubs in other cities, and brought in some great talent for the opening. A Black girl from Reno is probably the most beautiful woman I’ve ever had in my lap. Her mileage was only average, but it was quite a thrill anyway. Unfortunately I was too drunk and too tired to hang around for Sunset’s stage show.
