Was at Castawys this...

Was at Castawys this past Saturday night, haven't been there in at least six months, and I was shocked at the changes. They must have had the construction crews going around the clock to get this place up so quickly. The new building is just huge. Two floors, downstairs is basiclly one large room, while upstairs is divided into several smaller rooms, kind of a club within a club.. Plenty of seating at the two big stages downstairs, and there are several smaller stages scattered around for more intimate shows.There were a lot of people there, but it didn't seem crowded due to the sheer size of the place. This is the kind of setup you;d expect to see in Vegas or NYC.

Okay, so I'm being facetious here. Sorry. If you've ever been to Castaways, its still pretty much the same in layout and vibe. Still has that neigborhood bar with naked women feel to it. Any of the previous descriptions of the physical layout still apply. There does seem to have been a major upswing in the quality of dancers though. Of the dozen or so I saw, mostly sevens and eights with a couple of sixs. No covergirl model types, but better than I expected given previous visits. Didn't try any LDs, none of the girls piqued my interest enough to brave the open-air LD room, but I had fun tipping at the stage. Not worth a long distance drive but if you're in the area and want a beer with a view or just a more relaxed atmosphere, its worth checking out.
