This past Wednesday (July 17th) featured the 10th Anniversity Party for Club Desire/Club Lust. What a day/night. To mark the occasion, the club gave out $10k - distributed via 6 random drawings. Drawings were based on previous submissions of drink card forms collected over the prior 6 months since the xmas party. The club had recently completed the back outside deck Tiki Bar rennovations, and that festive theme was actually carried over to the inside. This totally enhanced the club party atmosphere vibe. Ive been to other club events, and no club does up a party as well as this one - and it's not even close...
Every member of the staff was on hand to accomodate this large scale party. The staff was amazing all day, all night. Great job pulling this event off. As well, almost all dancers worked a day or night shift - and there must have been over 80 different dancers on hand at various points of the day. There was one admittance fee to attend, which provided an all day pass. Once in the door, food and drinks were on the house all day/night. The food consisted of Jumbo Shrimp, Freshly sliced Prime Rib, along with several pasta & chicken dishes. One issue the club had was the sheer volume of traffic at the various bars. Due to the heat, a lot of people were just going up to get water throughout the day. Once suggestion for next time would be to get several party tub dispensers, keeping them filled with bottled water on ice and strategically place them within the club for self serve access. This would cut down on the wait times at the bars, and somewhat reduce stress levels on overworked bartenders.
The only other issue on this day was the heat, as the party was held in the midst of the heat wave (i.e. 95 degrees). The back deck was brutally HOT, and inside on the main level with the volume of people - the AC just couldn't keep up, essentially providing no relief. It would have been awesome if the club had rented several Mist Machines for the back deck, as more people would have hung outside, and at the same time would have reduced traffic inside. Club Lust (2nd/3rd floors) was only accessible to members. With relatively fewer patrons on those levels throughout the day, it allowed for a haven from the sweatbox downstairs. The 3rd floor in particular seems to have the best AC in the house anyway, and with less foot traffic - was the place to be at times.
