"Go East, young man, go East"....

"Go East, young man, go East". Horace Greely got it wrong, at least when it comes to the Saint Louis area and strip clubs. St Louis, as with KC, has some very strict and odd laws on clubs and dancers. Last December, I experienced the KC oddities, but with the 7 day membership wait period in Kansas, really had no options. Not so in the eastern end of the state. There, you can simply cross the river into Illinois, and find a number of clubs ready to slake a traveler's thirst for beautiful female display.

I drove up to Hollywood early in the evening on a Thursday night last month. The parking lot is well lit, and secure despite the dodgy feel of the neighborhood. The inside is spacious, clean, relatively well lit, and pleasant to the eye. There are three main dance floors, one with two poles for dueling dancers, and two with one pole. When I was there, only the two pole and once of the single poles were in use.

The girls ranged in shape from anorexically skinny to some that Ruebens would have loved to paint. Of course, the vast majority also had tats, although most of them were small enough that you could still make out the "girl" instead of seeing only the ink. The majority were white, with a leavening of black and Asian. In short, a smorgasbord of feminine beauty from which to pick.
