Summer has been exceptionally slow at the Gold and Silver club. My last visit was last Monday evening from about 9 til 12. When I first arrived there were only 2 dancers on shift. Eventually 2 more dancers showed up, but 1 dancer left. The customer count was equally low. As a regular of the club, I am disappointed to see them so empty. A first time visitor would no doubt be discouraged and walk out, never to return. After talking with the door guy and the bartender it seems that things have been slow like this for a while.

The owners have apparently decided to implement a new ticketing system for dances. Now, when you want to buy dances you have to go to the bar with the dancer of your choice and purchase a $20 dance ticket. I recommend only buying one at a time because the tickets are only good for that night and with the particular dancer that you are buying them from. Whatever the reason for doing this, it seems to have put the dancers and the employees in a foul mood. It's too bad because the last thing this club needed was more negative energy.

I still plan to return to the Gold and Silver on the weekends because the dancer quality is good and it is the only club in Roanoke, after all. It's just a shame to see things changing for the worse.
