On first sight, you may wonder how this club could rate and 8 from anyone. The exterior is painted in Greek-inspired blue and white stripes (the club's owner is of Greek ancestory, hence the name of the club) that do little to inspire. But it gets worse when you step inside.

The interior of the club is dark, black, and drab, illuminated by neon beer signs and a few scattered attempts at actual stage lighting. You seen the glitzy, high-tech clubs that make you feel like you've walked into a Vegas casino, right? The Acropolis isn't one of them. However, despite its "neighborhood dive" appearance, the Acropolis is considered one of Portland's best clubs, for the following reasons:

• On a typical night (and often on a typical afternoon) the club will have better, prettier, and friendlier dancers than just about any other club in town (there are sixty-some strip-clubs in Portland).
