Rick's has undergone a major change...

Rick's has undergone a major change since a few years back. It was quite different pre-Katrina. Nowadays, Rick's has become more tourist orientated with the prices to match. To begin with, the price of admission is $15.00 which is quite steep. Nevertheless, the interior is nice as they have remodeled extensively within the past year and installed a bar in the regular area and a bar in the VIP area. They still have two stages in the regular area with an additional one in the VIP area. There is also a bar in the upstairs VIP area where the $60.00 full contact dances happen and the VIP dances, too. The VIP dances cost $500.00 for a half an hour and $1,000.00 for a full hour. The rooms consist of a curtain made out of metal strands and, inside, there is a sofa and pole. It is pretty private. Of course, you have to factor in the tip to the waitresses which they will expect to "leave you alone." Also, if you pay with a credit card they will add a 20% surcharge.

The women tend to be the best looking amongst all the clubs located in downtown New Orleans with the sometime exception of The Penthouse Club. The women range from pure hustlers to those who, at least, will sit down and talk to you before hitting you up with a dance. Note, the $20.00 dances are a waste as there is no contact. Drinks are expensive, too. A beer will cost you $8.00 while a mixed dring will run $12.00 and higher.

In conclusion, Rick's is not a bad place to visit if you are in town for a convention or want to see strippers. Just be prepared to spend a lot.
