Reviewed this club in the past...

Reviewed this club in the past and suggested that folks run away from it. But after reading some newer reviews, I decided to give it another chance and check it out on Tuesday night. Needless to say, I should have heeded the advice in my October review.

The girls at Royal Palace have seen better days and are likely the rejects from other clubs. That said, some of them look all right from a distance and are ok to watch for a few minutes. But when they come up to you and ask for a tip after every set, you see all the wrinkles and scars that should always be covered up. Normally ugly girls can make up for their appearance by flirting with me and taking the time to joke around. While there were only 8 customers at the club and about 10 girls, no girl ever sat with me or talked to me past asking for a tip. As a guy with money to spend on drinks for the ladies and lots of cash to tip, I expected some to at least sit next to me for a few minutes and ask for a drink. But they would much rather talk to each other, watch TV, and hang out with the two "regulars" who seem to be the only customers enjoying the club.

Domestic beers at Royal Palace are $7.50, or $8 since the waitress only gave me $12 back in change for a $20. There's no cover, which is nice and they give you a plastic container of peanuts when you sit down. It's in a good location near Dupont Circle, but nothing can make up for the ugly dancers and lack of customer interaction. Go to MD or Camelot - just stay away from Royal Palace.
