Stopped by after a round of golf on Wednesday a bit after five, only to find a piece of paper taped to the door alerting the public that Silk Juneau now opens at 7 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday. This was a bummer, not just for me but for the club and the girls working there since I instead headed home with the couple hundred dollars I was hoping to spend. I wasn't going to wait a couple hours for the club to decide to open. As someone who comes in regularly after work, this new time will really slow down my clubbing at Silk. That sucks, because it has been a good, clean club with nice dancers. I did stop back in a couple days later on Friday, just to see why they changed their open time. Didn't figure that out, but did find out that the club management also cancelled the two-for-one lap dance specials that they've run until 10 p.m. the past few years. The girls I talked to were bummed, because the price increase is hurting their income from regular customers who were drawn to the otherwise slow club for this deal. Doesn't make sense to make such a strict move when lap dance specials don't actually cost the club anything. Two downers from my favorite club. I hope management changes their mind and opens back up earlier and brings back the specials that kept bringing me back here instead of heading for any other $20 a dance club.
