On a trip to Tampa I...

On a trip to Tampa I finally stopped at Mons Venus for the first time. It is a small venue with one stage. However, new to my experience is that in addition to the typical pole there is another pole parallel to the stage surface that the dancers pull themselves up on adding the entertainment of the stage dances. Around the stage against the walls are the private dance areas, which aren’t all that private.

I stopped by on my way to the airport after a business trip. I showed up around 1 pm on a Monday afternoon. Not surprisingly the place was pretty dead. $20 cover and $2 cokes, water, red bulls, etc. When I arrived there were only 2 dancers working and I was the only patron. By the time I left there were 4 dancers working and a few more patrons had come and gone.

A sign says the private dances are $20-$30. During this daytime shift all the girls were charging $25 a song. These were all the typical full contact Tampa dances. Also, the songs were definitely full length, no shortchanging on the time this day. In fact, there was no DJ working. I don’t know if this is typical of Mons but the dancers picked their songs from a jukebox, and also paid for the songs themselves.
