I enjoyed a brief visit to Monroe's. My flight to PBI landed around 11:30 Thursday, and I decided to check out Monroe's and Cheetah WPB before resuming the business part of my trip. Monroe's is at the corner of North Congress and Okechobee. I drove past the place once--maybe it would be easier to spot at night, when the sign is lighted. Big parking lot, complimentary valet but no hassle to self-park. Friendly door girl. Inside, the club presents itself as a large rectangle: bars at each end, a single elevated stage along one long wall, with the center devoted to table seating. Friction room(s) were along the other wall. Prompt, friendly service at the bar from an attractive bartender. Overall excellent condition of furnishings--I'm guessing a recent remodel. Nice, relaxing, upscale feel.

Dancers were a bit older than the typical SoFla club, but the women were attractive and in good shape. Of note, all the dancers wore long dresses, which added a "classy" touch. Jade sat down next to me; I bought her a drink and she was pretty good at making conversation with her knee in my crotch. A big push for a private room, but then the DJ called all the dancers onstage, followed by a 3 for $30 friction dance special. The songs were clipped, but all in all good way to go for a test drive. Decided against a private room, but I really liked Jade and could have had a good time with 2-3 other dancers on the shift.

I came away with a positive impression--a well-managed club, staffed by people trying to please the customer and not merely going through the motions. One short visit on a quiet early afternoon may not be representative, but I liked Monroe's and will return.
