It has been over half a year since I visited Follies last time. Basically nothing has changed – Same free parking before 3pm, $5 a beer, no cover in the day time, and, needless to say, the ultra-high mileage two-way contact lap dance for $10 a song. I heard the VIP rate has increased a little bit, by about 10 bucks for a 30 minutes session, but that is a minor change anyway. The place is very smoky, much darker compared to most other strip clubs in the south. Almost all high chairs near the two ends of the club are occupied by 2 o’clock in the afternoon, and many may feel a bit uneasy to play with tits when sitting in the bar near the center. A good variety of girls. Roughly 20 dancers on shift when I was there, with about 50% white, 25% black, and a few Asian and Latino. Touching butts and breasts is allowed by default, but it is always better to politely ask in advance. Most girls work really hard for the money, and I usually give them 10 bucks of well-deserved tip for every two or three songs. Pole dancing on the stage is not particularly impressive, and definitely not as good as Cheetah in the midtown by a distance. So if you just want to watch naked, good looking girls, Cheetah or Oasis is a better choice for you. Follies is more than a vision feast; it is where you come and feel it, with your heart and your hands.
