I've been to the Penns Port...

I've been to the Penns Port a number of times over the past dozen years or so, and it is consistently worthwhile from a price/quality ratio perspective. It's bar with a neighborhood feel, and the same people have operated it for years. There is a u-shaped bar and some booths along one wall. In a second room is the billiard area, and the restrooms and dancer dressing room are connected to this second room. The girls dance on a platform behind the bar, then walk around the bar for tips. I've never seen girls hustle tips while walking around the room. The customers are a mix of working guys and some guys with money, and there are some regulars who come there pretty often. There is ample on-the-street parking, and a video monitor is trained on part of the parking area, providing extra security. Penns Port is located on one of Philadelphia's main streets, and I consider it a safe area. Penns Port is not open late. I've never seen any sort of disturbance on any visit. One nice feature is that they always have some local craft beer on tap. There is no admission charge.

The quality of girl is high here. Like another review has said, some of the girls who work at Penns Port also appear elsewhere, at Daydreams, for example. For customers sitting at the bar, the girls are in close view. Floor work is common, and most of the girls bend over to provide a complete view from the rear. I can't recall seeing any black girls or Asian girls dancing at Penns Port, which is fine by me, but guys who want to see black chicks should try some other joints. Three one dollar tips per girl is customary. There are no private dances or private shows at Penns Port.

I like this place a lot. It's casual, there is no menace in the atmosphere, they have some really good beer to drink, the girls are pretty and cheerful, the room is well-lit and the dancers are so close that you can see everything, and the price is right.
