This was my first time traveling...

This was my first time traveling to Washington DC and although I had read bad reviews of all the clubs in DC, the Royal Palace was two blocks from my Hotel and so I gave it a try.

General impressions were run down (one of the poles had broken about 1/3'd down, and was duct-taped together to try and fix it), juke box music (which was almost all hiphop and rap), owned by a 50's-60's asian couple (although there were no asian dancers working, at least when I was there). The dancers were decent, mostly 5's (although clean and decent bodies just nothing exciting with an occasional 7....definately worth talking to and watching them get naked. The customers were a mix of wanna be gang bangers (who don't tip and rarely stay long), late middle aged white guys (getting all the attention) and guys who obviously just got off work from a shitty job (couple were obviously strung out and got booted pretty quickly).

Here is what I noticed that is not normal to most clubs I've visited across the US:

*) I paid 5 different prices for the same bottles of bud light, every waitress or bartender seemed to just make up whatever they wanted for price (I got charged, throughout the 5 hours I was there, $6, $6.25, $6.50, $7, $7.25) all completely random (no happy hour or anything going on). Even at these ridiculous prices for a beer, the waitresses EXPECTED $1 to $2 in tips and will ask you for it.

*) No matter what you tip on stage, or what stage you are even near --- every dancer who comes off the stage will walk the whole room pushing for $1 to $2 tip, regardless of whether you were even there or even saw them on stage. I have experienced similar to this in other clubs in other cities (like Atlanta) but not in this way.
