I've always thought of this club as an average club and hadn't been there in years. However, the

right dancer can turn an average club into a great club. When I went to Risque a few months back for the first time in years it was because I had heard that this dancer I had run into briefly at another club the previous year was dancing there. And she was; as a result I've been hitting Risque about once a week since then and figure the least I could do is review it. Another review described the club as in a "bad neighborhood". That's not the case. It is an a broad throughfare dominated by commercial buildings along the Deleward River just a few blocks South of the Tacony Palmyra bridge. It is easy to get to; there's a reasonable amount of parking, except at peak hours, and no real security issues. The club itself is is not too big, not too small. The one stage is a long rectangle in the middle of the bar which runs all around it.

There's a pool table off on a lower level, a decent food menu and two options for private dances-the couch dance room and the "champagne" room. There's usually one dancer on stage in the daytime and two or more at night. The dancers in general are attractive "around-the-way" types...down-to-earth, not glitzy, but pretty natural. There are very few outright dogs but very few great beauties. They dance two records and then come around the bar for tips. They are very friendly, the hustle is low-key and are easy to chat up and have join you for a drink. Sooner or later they'll push for a private dance but there's generally no attitude if you

don't spring for it. As far as the private dances, I've never sprung for the "champagne room"; as far as I can tell the only difference between that and the couch dance room is that the dancer will get fully nude. But as for nude, I've had a dancer get fully naked in the couch room (with a towel between dancers and customer) for an extra $10 per dance. Be aware that there are cameras in both rooms and they are monitored to a degree. Most dancers, as far as I can tell, keep mileage within certain limits, depending on the dancer the mileage can be decent. But I've heard of dancers being fired for an "extra" activity. At $20 per dance, its neither a bargain or pricey. In short, Risque is a perfectly reasonable way to spend an hour or two as long as your expectations aren't too high....unless you are lucky enough, like me, to have a "go to" stone-beautiful dancer with a great body there to play with.
