I went to Rick’s late on a Friday afternoon and found the place already busy. Not a seat was to be had at the bar so I took up residence at one of the small tables near the stage. The music was positively deafening, but this was one of the few open spots in which I could sit. That’s the most I can manage to complain, I suppose. The salient feature of this club is really the quality of the dancers both in terms of looks and in terms of conversational skills. Girls who made approaches were sweet, tactful, conversationally talented and, crucially, gorgeous.

I spoke with one beautiful young lady for ten minutes or more before she even broached the subject of a dance. I elected to go straight upstairs for a private dance as these are very reasonably priced by NYC standards; $150 for 15 minutes in a private, curtained area. The dancer with whom I was spending time oddly requested a little touching but this was a pretty “clean” dance with no more than some mutually roaming hands.

At no other club have I found dancers who combined looks and personality to the same extent as those I’ve known here. Yes, yes: drinks in NYC are expensive ($8 bottled beer or sparkling water, more for cocktails), service at the busy bar can be slow, and extras are beyond unlikely. Despite being a shiny, high-traffic New York club, though, Rick’s has a distinctly warm vibe. The girls remain fantastic.
