I had been craving some thick ghetto booty all day so decided to give Babes another chance. This was my first weekend night visit to Babes; I had been once before during the week at night and hadn't been too impressed that time.

Location and physical layout of club: Babes is a black club located in an industrial/commercial area of I-20 within walking distance of two other mixed clubs (Fannies and Riley's Showbar). I arrived at 10:30 Saturday night and there was mandatory $10 parking valet and $8 cover charge. Inside the club is basically a big open room with one large low stage in the middle, a bar against the back wall with high stools (no backs) with an ATM next to it, 3-4 pool tables on one side and a small boxing ring (you heard that right...the club advertises dancer boxing matches on Wednesday nights) on the other side. There are 12-15 low tables with low plush chairs facing the stage. There's a projection TV on one side wall showing sports. The unisex bathroom is a small room in the back corner and is DISGUSTING. The VIP area is next to the bar against the back wall; it's a series of semi-private single booths of a hallway(club personnel can see in if they walk by). VIP costs $20 to the club and the dances are $10 apiece (vs. $5 LDs on the club floor). I'd probably throw some dollars to the VIP bouncer to leave me and the dancer alone. One hour during my visit there was a VIP special ($10 instead of $20).

Club Atmosphere and dancer quality: Babes is an all-black club (all black dancers and virtually all black clientele) with a definate ghetto vibe (though during my visit there were 4 other white customers and 2-3 middle class-looking black couples). During my visit there were 12-15 dancers working ranging from 5s to 7s, with a couple of 8s. The dances are $5/song. The dancers ran the gamut from dark ebony to light skin with freckles; thick with superbig booties and/or titties to thin with a few curves; plenty of ink to just a few tats. The bartender left a lot to be desired as far as service but the waitresses on the floor were very diligent. The DJ played the typical playlist of Atlanta black strip clubs (mostly local rap and hip hop). The DJ was pretty good; i.e., he wasn't obnoxious, just played the music and didn't make the show all about him.
